Better Life Farming Alliance (BLF Alliance) is a global partnership between Bayer Crop Science, Netafim, Swiss Re and IFC with the aim to enable smallholders to unlock their farming potential and improve their livelihoods. The objective is to design and prove a holistic business model in several countries in Asia and Africa, ensure that livelihood impact is being achieved. Project has complemented 4 year of implementation in India in the state of UP and Jharkhand. Overall, since inception of the project to date, the project team has trained 30,293 farmers (including 6,220 women farmers) covering total area of 16,626 hectares (ha). This has led to significant improvement in farm yield and living standards of the project beneficiaries. IFC is carrying out a quasi-experimental impact assessment, consisting of an end line farmer household survey where project beneficiary farmers (treatment farmers) and non-participating farmers (comparison farmers) will be surveyed to be able to identify the project’s impact on farmers livelihoods and farming activities. An EOI is invited under which the survey firm will collect data from approx. 600 farmers in Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur) and 600 farmers in Jharkhand (Chatra, Lohardaga).
