ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW
Assignment Title: Consultancy on Sex-Disaggregated Data (SDD) Capabilities of Financial Institutions in East Asia Pacific (EAP).
Assignment Countries:
EAP countries, primarily the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam, the Pacific.
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
IFC seeks to contract a consulting firm to assess and enhance financial institutions' capabilities in collecting, processing, validating, analyzing, and reporting data using sex-disaggregated data (SDD). The consultancy aims to improve the practical implementation of SDD procedures within East Asia Pacific’s financial sector.
To achieve project-specific goals, the contracted firm is expected to:
- Work closely with the IFC team to organize 3 roundtable discussions with the selected financial institutions (FIs) in the region to present the opportunities of implementing Banking on Women (BOW) initiatives, as well as understand and document the challenges from FIs to serve Women-Owned MSMEs.
- Validate or refine the pilot’s methodology to systematically assess SDD capabilities throughout the data cycle, from collection to reporting and usage.
- Assess SDD capabilities, data quality, and bottlenecks of both existing and newly selected participating financial institutions (PFIs).
- Provide actionable recommendations and ongoing support to the selected PFIs to:
+ Build their capacity to collect, process, validate, analyze, and use high-quality SDD.
+ Accurately report to IFC on key indicators, disaggregated by sex and enterprise size.
- Support regional financial sector learning by training PFIs, IFC staff, and other key stakeholders in SDD best practices and common challenges.
- Codifying and disseminating engagement lessons learned, innovations, and areas of opportunity.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The World Bank Group invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Firms may associate to enhance their qualifications unless otherwise stated in the solicitation documents. Where a group of firms associate to submit an EOI, they must indicate which is the lead firm. If shortlisted, the firm identified in the EOI as the lead firm will be invited to the request for proposal (RFP) phase.

NOTES
Following this invitation for EOI, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
Only those firms which have been shortlisted will be invited to participate in the RFP phase. No notification or debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
