The textiles and clothing sector is the biggest
exporting sector in Jordan. Despite its significant contribution to the
economy, the sector faces challenges related to the availability of skilled
labor to cater for the growing needs of the sector.
From another side, the industry managers, despite the
higher wages and benefits, rely on expatriate workers as the local workforce is
not interested in employment in the garment industry and expatriate workers
have higher production efficiency.
To ensure workforce readiness and competitiveness,
there is a need to develop tailored, high-quality curricula for identified
professions within the sector.
The primary objective of this assignment is to develop
standardized, competency-based curricula and test bank for six professions in
the garments sector to meet industry demands, enhance skills, and align with
national and international standards.
These curricula shall be utilized by the training
institutes, accredited by the Technical and Vocational Skills Development
Commission (TVSDC) in Jordan.
