The overall objective of
the IFC Jordan Textile project is to support both new and expansion
investments in textiles and garments production in Jordan.
The Project has the
following three specific objectives:
1.
Assess
the feasibility of creating an integrated textiles sector in Jordan, which is a
pre-requisite for achieving exponential export and employment growth targets
for the sector and assess the investment potential of the creation and
operation of a Textile cluster/dedicated zone in Jordan (an industry zone for
co-location of multiple textile, garment and relevant inputs producers, as an
instrument to support the vertical integration and the overall sector
development).
2.
Improve
investment conditions in the textile industry by focused policy reforms to
improve inefficient and burdensome regulations.
3.
Support
attraction and mobilization of new investments into the textile sector of
Jordan.
The
objective of the assignment is to design and implement a comprehensive investment
promotion campaign to attract investments in Jordan’s textiles and clothing
sector, including organizing conferences, roadshows, and exhibitions in Jordan
and internationally, aimed at:
- Attracting
Investments: Drawing international and regional investors
into Jordan’s textiles and clothing sector.
- Promoting the
Textiles Cluster/Industry Zone: Showcasing
its benefits as a hub for vertical integration and industrial growth and
attracting investments into zones development.
- Enhancing
Jordan’s Global Image: Positioning Jordan as a competitive
and sustainable investment destination for textiles and clothing.
- Encouraging
existing investments to expand: facilitate
connections to international markets to help businesses expand their
operations in Jordan.
