Assignment Title: Scaling up energy efficient (EE) equipment financing for MSMEs for an FI in India

ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
This assignment aims to support an FI to scale up energy efficient (EE) machine lending to MSMEs. In this direction, it aims to identify EE technologies in certain sectors through a market study. This includes building their EE technologies list, vendors and manufacturers connects. The study findings and recommendations, would help in to scaling up their lending to EE machineries across MSME sectors in India.
Key objectives of the study (will include but not limited to):
- Review the geographies and vendors the FI is currently active with and create a framework to identify new opportunities for EE machinery financing.
- Identify new potential sectors along with the list of EE technologies/machineries (meeting the IFC EE criteria), vendors and manufacturers, and geographies the FI can look at for increasing their business.
- In the new potential sectors identified, identify potential OEMs/Vendors and create a list for each sector/technologies identified.
- Review the existing processes of the FI with respective to mapping of equipment/vendors/manufacturers and provide recommendations on MIS/Credit/Product for their existing and new operating segments.
- Capacity building and awareness generation to educate stakeholders about EE technologies. Targeted for MSME customers, EE Technology Providers/OEMs and Customers.
- Expected Timelines for Study: 12-16 weeks.
IFC will work closely with the firm at various stages of the assignment to ensure the firm has a good understanding of the requirements of the project.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. The World Bank Group invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB.
2. EOIs should be strictly less than 25 pages (all details and Annex included).
3. Firms may associate to enhance their qualifications unless otherwise stated in the solicitation documents. Where a group of firms associate to submit an EOI, they must indicate which is the lead firm. If shortlisted, the firm identified in the EOI as the lead firm will be invited to the request for proposal (RFP) phase.
4. Expressions of Interest should be submitted, in English, electronically through WBGeProcure RFx Now
NOTES
Following this invitation for EOI, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
Only those firms which have been shortlisted will be invited to participate in the RFP phase. No notification or debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
