Despite
the challenging environment, IFC continues to engage in Yemen providing
investment, advisory, and upstream support. Recognizing the critical role of
the private sector in Yemen’s resilience and growth prospects, IFC focuses on three
priority areas: (i) develop the energy sector by increasing private sector
engagement in renewable energy generation, and supporting the country’s energy
sector recovery, modernization, and reform, (ii) enhance access to finance and bolster the
performance of the Yemeni financial sector, and (iii) foster private sector
resilience, competitiveness, and growth particularly in agribusiness,
manufacturing and services, including health and education.
IFC is looking for
a consultant / firm to work flexibly across a variety of sectors and performing
a multitude of tasks in support of IFC’s activities in the country. This
includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Sector segmentation
and business mapping
i.
Assessment and
feasibility studies of sectors and value chains.
ii.
The Consultant will help
identify high potential leads and contribute to the development of a client
engagement strategy.
iii.
Support investment teams
to conduct preliminary bankability assessment of new leads to identify any gaps
against IFC’s investment criteria.
iv.
The Consultant will
identify early-stage project opportunities that are not yet at a bankability
stage for IFC.
2. Market and sector
development: assess the policy and regulatory environment in prominent sectors
and prepare proposals for possible reforms to create an enabling environment,
that ultimately leads to the creation of investment opportunities for IFC and
the private sector.
3.Assessment of integrity
risks.
4. Participate, as
requested, in client meetings and coordinate the preparation of presentations, follow-ups,
minutes, reports.
5. Help build a dialogue
with strategic stakeholders
IFC would award a framework
agreement to a successful bidder, with preliminary duration of 3 years.
The contract may be awarded
to several vendors, which will be requested to work on separate tasks within
the contract.
