The Government of Cote d’Ivoire (GoCI) through
the Ministry of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Hygiene (MoS) approached IFC to
support in attracting private sector participation to build, operate, maintain
and transfer an integrated Solid Waste Management (SWM) system in three
regions: in the vicinity of the Abidjan Autonomous District, in an
Intercommunality in the center composed of 9 municipalities; i.e. the “Center
Intercommunality” of the country and in an Intercommunality in the north of the
country composed of 9 municipalities; i.e. the “North Intercommunality” (the
Project).
The GoCI will fund construction of the solid waste management infrastructure through a WB loan. The private partner is expected to design, build, operate and maintain the infrastructure will provided integrated solid waste management services (pre-collection, collection, transport, disposal, treatment).
In relation to the Project, IFC is looking to
retain an international technical consultant (the “Consultant”) to provide
technical support in relation to the Project and to undertake the scope of work
detailed below. The Consultant will select, subcontract and supervise a local
firm (the “Subconsultant”) to support it in the performance of its scope of
work in relation to technical issues. The Consultant will oversee
the work-product of the Subconsultant to ensure quality and will be responsible
for managing the timing and manner of input from the Subconsultant. References
in this REOI to the Consultant shall include the Subconsultant, unless the
context otherwise requires.
